Introduction I, the author of this book, have been an English instructor at the Boromarajonani Nursing College, Suphanburi for many years and gained a lot of experience with my students. At the start of my teaching in the college there were no suitable books for the students to practice their reading. They had to read passages from books which were in too sophisticated English with words they could hardly pronounce or understand. Reading exercises were boring for them and they didnût benefit at all. Then, one day, I had the idea to write some dialogues specially designed for the level of English of our college students. They should be in simple English on subjects of interest and with regard to their future profession. Easy to read, easy to understand and written in a way that the students enjoy reading. At first I wrote a few dialogues to test and presented them in classes to the students. I read the dialogues to the students for them to listen to the pronunciation, the intonation and to write phonetic aids into their sheets. I encouraged them to underline the words they didnût understand. At first, I let them guess the meaning from the contents and only gave them the definition when absolutely needed. The following lessons, the students had to read and act out the dialogues in front of the class. The outcome was astonishing and above all expectation. The students enjoyed reading and acting out the dialogues and all of a sudden the reading lessons became their favourite. That encouraged me to write and complete this book. My special thanks to the Chao Praya Yomaraj Hospital, the Pornchai Hospital, Suphanburi and the Danchang Hospital, Danchang for allowing us to take photos in their hospitals and to many doctors, nurses, colleagues and friends who advised, helped and encouraged me in many ways.
